A short story about Fertilizer Process Production.

Well… Now i want to tell a short story about fertilizer process production. In order to make a fertilizer, in this case urea. we need a raw material. The most important raw material are natural gas, water, and the air. In the block diagram below we can see unit integration on fertilizer plant.

In the diagram we can see that raw material such as natural gas was used in utility plant and ammonia plant. In utility plant natural gas needed for the Gas Turbine Generator to produce electricity and for boiler to produce steam. Another material in use are raw water and air. Raw water used to produce boiler feed water, filter water, cooling water, and portable water. Air used to produced Instrument & Plant air.

In ammonia plant natural gas was the base material for producing ammonia, with several process natural gas will be converted to hydrogen and we have a nitrogen from free air. Hydrogen and Nitrogen are the main components of synthesis gas that will converted to ammonia. The by product of ammonia plant are carbon dioxide gas, CO2 gas will be transfered to urea  plant. CO2 and NH3 mixed in urea reactor and produced an urea fertilizer.
